Family over everything

Dom from Fast and Furious was right all along, and everyone just turned it into a meme.

Family is the single most important thing to have in this world. Having unconditional love and support around you is something that money cannot buy. I’m fortunate enough to have a big family both here and overseas who show nothing but their love toward me which pushes me through everything.

When I was little we used to have dinners and both sets of my Nonni every week and while I took it for granted back then, I only realised recently how nice that actually was. Everyone in the same room with food, love and jokes all around. When friends tell me today they’re busy or can’t make plans cause they’re at their Nonna’s for dinner nothing make me more happy knowing that still exists today.

Being fortunate enough to have siblings is beautiful and you only get to appreciate this when you no longer live under the same roof and miss the times when you could easily stroll into their room to annoy them - as your way of showing love.

Even better than this is friends who become family that you can have this “sibling rivalry” with. That’s real friendship. The ones that say it how it is and don’t give a shit about hurting your feelings, newsflash! They’re the ones that care for you the most.

You have a sixth sense when it comes to your family and that’s the connection that brings us all together, bound by blood that no distance can break. We come into this world with family and we leave this world with our family, until the end of the line, they’re there for us.

No jealousy, no competition just pure love to push each other further and help each other to be the best versions of ourselves.

A cousin of mine once told me “uno di i miei fratelli mi puo uccidere, e ancore voglio essere morto accanto a loro” - one of my own siblings could kill me, and I’d still want to be buried next to them.
