Work/Life Balance

For the last year a bit, I was working around 42 hours a week at a part-time job grinding away at this venture. 6 am starts and working weekends meant early nights and barely going out. Initially, it was six days and a couple more hours but for the main part it was 43 divided by five days, therefore, in my little spare time or on my days off if I wasn’t catching up on sleep I was working away at this, coming up with ideas and getting everything ready, especially in the last quarter of the year.

On top of that, I tried balancing out a healthy amount of times to see my close mates and work out at least five days at the gym, busy busy boy. Nowadays it’s a lot different with a lot of my time dedicated to this or at work, barely any time is left for gym and my social life. Luckily my closest friends are themselves grinding away and we’re all on the same page. Crazy to think a few years ago we couldn’t wait to get out of school.

It’s important no matter what you’re doing to keep a strong mind, if you don’t have the time or money for the gym go out for a walk, kick around a ball, do something just to get that vitamin d. Above all, make sure you take the time to wind down and have some quality time with your loved ones. Taking a break from the usual loop can help clear out your brain fog and get yourself out of a rut. It’s also good to take advantage of long weekends or a break whenever you can, find yourself a good de-stress point and use it as time away from work, if you can. For me this was night drives with some music or Dromana even for a night or two.

We all work hard but never forget how far you’ve come and make sure you’re not sacrificing important relationships or time with the people that care about you the most, cause before we know it, it can be gone.
