Big Kid in an Adult Body

Two months into running Via Gianlu every day is as strange as the next. An immense amount of responsibility is needed given you are in charge of your socials, accounts, operations, staff and everything in between, and all the ownership is on you. no excuses.

At times it feels really strange, that someone who still has Marvel posters up in his room is in the position I’m in. Somedays I can’t help but feel imposter syndrome and like someone I’m not, because to me I’m still the little kid in the cover photo, opting for a Spider-Man stance as my go-to pose in photos.

On one end of the scale, it’s quite scary starting up a business on your own and facing issues that have always been for ‘grown-ups’ and on the other, it feels pretty cool still being so young, and running a business.

Probably explains why I always wanted to act older than I was and more mature, hanging out with my zio’s when I was little, designing my house at 8, travelling the world alone, and always trying to be independent, it all adds up.

The point is, that the first step is always daunting and if you wait to feel ‘ready’ you’ll never take the step, cause you’ll never be ready. The first step is the biggest but the most important, before you know it you’ve done 10 steps, it all becomes second nature and you’re on your way to kicking your goals.

Growth happens when you start doing the things that you’re not qualified to do.
